Alfa Romeo – 1974 GTV 2000 Coupe, Rosso Amaranto (Burgundy) over black leatherette interior. 2.0 liter, 129 hp fuel injected 4 cylinder with a 5 speed manual transmission. The motor is a dual overhead cam, SPICA fuel injected powerplant with a hemi head, forged crank, forged pistons, forged rods and a 7 quart finned aluminum oil sump. Beautifully restored in 2010 and 2011, this Alfa sits on 15x7 Minilite replica wheels with Pirelli 195/60-15 P6 tires. The suspension has been completely rebuilt and was properly lowered to Euro specifications with IAP sport springs and KONI adjustable shocks. It’s got 4 wheel disc brakes and a posi rear. Original Becker AM/FM cassette with 72,000 miles indicated on the odometer.  The car was imported by J. Dunn Imports in Walnut Creek, California and was sold to Mr. Tony Costello in August, 1974. It has been a west coast car its entire life.

This is the most dependable, easy driving Alfa I have ever enjoyed. I have put over 3,000 miles on it since the restoration and just love the attention it gets from a wide variety of enthusiasts; heck, even the American muscle car fanatics think it’s really cool. I came to know the restorer (who is also from Walnut Creek) and enjoyed going through the original owners manual, service coupon book, parts manuals and volumes of service records that he accumulated. Part of the restoration included a $8400 glass out repaint in its original color of Rosso Amaranto and all of the instruments were professionally cleaned and calibrated. A black leather Nardi steering wheel was added and I still have the original wood Alfa wheel. The car’s underside looks as good as the top. Italian designer Bertone styled this car and the more you read about these GTV’s, the more the rich racing history captivates you. Truly a special classic for any collection. Enjoy the pics!
